New MINI will be marking the festive season with the launch of a gigantic Christmas tree sculpture on the river Thames. The massive construction will tower over many of the buildings flanking the river, and will provide London with a breathtaking new landmark over the Christmas season. The sculpture will consist of 12 life-size MINIs welded on to a steel ‘tree’ shaped structure. The 50ft tall, 20ft wide tree, will then sail up and down the Thames until January 2nd, on a barge specially customised for the purpose. The cars’ headlights will be fully illuminated creating a strikingly decorated ‘MINI’ Christmas tree.
On Wednesday 19th December Tower Bridge will be opening to allow the tree through on its maiden voyage.

Weighing in at just 1,140 kg, the MINI Cooper S is a powerful and agile four-seater car, offering a 0 - 62mph time of just 7.4 seconds and an impressive top speed of 135 mph. All this means the Cooper S should be equally at home on a busy motorway as it would on a twisty country road.
