MINI rally legend Paddy Hopkirk has been named as an ‘Ambassador for MINI’ at a presentation Today, given by Trevor Houghton-Berry (MINI General Manager) and the MINI team who were in attendance at a MINI track day for Mini club representatives and assorted members of the media in Bedford.

As part of the presentation Paddy, best known for his famous Monty Carlo Rally victories, was handed the keys to MINI Y333 EJB, a specially chosen number plate paying homage to the BMC Works Mini 33 EJB which Paddy so triumphantly drove back in the 1960’s. Mr Hopkirk also paid tribute to the new MINI, and the excellent job made in recreating the spirit of the classic motoring icon in a modern car.
