MINI2 Exclusive: MINI Convertible Photograph

MINI2 has acquired this exclusive photograph of the new MINI Convertible, due on sale in Summer ‘04. The photograph shows the new soft top MINI undergoing ‘leak testing’, an important part of the development process, where the car is sprayed with specially treated water, and then checked thoroughly for any signs of water ingress, which can then be re engineered out before the car enters full scale production at BMW Group Plant Oxford.

This leak testing could be all the more important for the MINIs home market of the UK, where we expect the car to be released first in One and Cooper form, with the hot Cooper S version (pictured) to follow soon after.
