Welcome to Europe: MINI roadshow in Brussels for the 10 additional EU countries
On 1 May Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Cyprus will join the European Union. MINI will be there to celebrate this historical event with an international roadshow. Ten MINIs decorated with roof flags representing the new countries along with an extra European MINI, showing the EU flag, will celebrate into the accession night to welcome the adjoining countries.

Sunday 25th April Brad Herman was driving his Cooper S when he spotted a Hot Orange Cooper S Convertible going in the opposite direction. Following what sounds like a bit of a “hot pursuit” through the streets, Brad tracked the car into a supermarket car park and managed to not only get a very good look over the car, he also managed to take

The official site for the new MINI, MINI.com has been updated with details of the new revisions to take place to the MINI range this July. The new micro-site includes several details and photographs, including small images of the new colours that will appear in the MINI range, and some detail shots of other changes, most of which you could have heard about in one of our exclusive reports earlier this year, or even last year! A minor refresh for MINI One, MINI One D, MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S
From July 2004, the MINI hatchback range will receive an enhanced interior and exterior look. In addition, modifications to the transmission will increase engine flexibility in the mid range. Trevor Houghton-Berry, general manager MINI UK said “Clearly we did not want to change a winning formula – customers love the friendly face and retro interior of the MINI. This model update is merely a few subtle tweaks to make the MINI even more desirable than it already is.”

MINI UK Announces Pricing and Specification Details of its New Range Topping MINI Cooper S Convertible
The MINI Cooper S Convertible will make its UK debut at The Sunday Times Motor Show Live on 25th May. It will be priced at £17,595 and will go on sale in the UK at the end of August. Just like the MINI One Convertible and MINI Cooper Convertible, the MINI Cooper S Convertible will be built at Plant Oxford in the UK.

Extra Weight, Extra Power for Soft Top S.
MINI2 originally reported this rumour in early February, and we’re now as certain as we can be without official confirmation the Convertible Cooper S will come with a maximum power output of 170 bhp and a healthy 220 nm (160 lb/ft) of torque. This compares to the standard cars 163 bhp / 210 nm figures. The reason, we understand,
is purely to counteract the increased kerb weight of the soft top car, to keep performance figures healthy.
MINI reached a major milestone this month by registering its 100,000th car in the UK over a year earlier than planned.
Trevor Houghton-Berry, General Manager of MINI UK said: “When we launched MINI in 2001 we knew we had a winner, but it’s a tremendous achievement to be celebrating our 100,000th MINI registration in the UK within two and a half years of launch. MINI really has exceeded our expectations in so many ways.

sized engine, and how much will the power ratings be changed.
