BMW Group Plant Swindon has embarked upon a £40 million investment n new production facilities.
A major supplier to the new MINI Convertible which goes on sale this week, the plant’s investment programme will take place over the next three years. Supplying all the main pressings for the car, Plant Swindon beat internal and external competition to be the new supplier as well as continuing to supply parts for the hatchback model.

MINI2 Bags Another World Exclusive!
MINI2 has acquired a short video clip of a concept MINI, filmed after being spotted outside the Italdesign-Giugiaro studios on the outskirts of Turin, Italy.
Italdesign-Giugiaro are known to be working alongside BMW in the design and development of what will become the next step in the MINIs evolution. We do not know how much, or little, this lightly disguised test vehicle will reflect the finished product, but it’s an interesting glimpse at the possible direction (and non dramatic nature) of the development of the next generation MINI hatchback.

MINI Cooper Receives High Score for Second Year in a Row
For the second year in a row MINI has received the top award in its segment in the latest Strategic Vision Total Quality Index (TQI). The MINI Cooper was the highest scorer in the Small Coupe under $25,000 segment in this year’s index by the San Diego-based research firm.
