MINI Wood Interior Trim to Change in 2005
“Mismatched” Interior to get Revamp in January
MINI2 has learned that MINI are planning a change to the Wood Effect dash trim option, currently available as a cost option across the MINI range.
One of the things we least like about the wooden interior is the way it clashes badly with the other silver trim parts that remain when you order this option. This has been a real bug-bear since day one. Well, now it seems MINI are going to do something about it!
Almost every part of the dash layout you see below in silver “White Silver” to BMW, will be replaced with the darker Anthracite trim equivalent part (images below of wood
and Anthracite interiors for reference).
The parts to change to Anthracite are: Door Bezels & Bins, Facia Vent Bezels, Central Instrument Bezel, Down Tubes, Front Cup Holder Bezels, Ashtray Lid, Gearshift
Bezel, Rear Cup Holder Bezel, Tweeter Trim, Front SpeakerTrim, Door Grab Rails, Rear Speaker Trim and the Front Armrest Side Supports.

We believe the cost of the option will not be affected by this change, which will be introduced from January ‘05 production.
