The BMW Group is investing over £100 million in its Oxford plant between now and 2007 and is creating around 200 new jobs in MINI production.
MINI2 today attended a press conference at the future site of the new body in white facility expansion at BMW Plant Oxford, where BMW chiefs revealed details of their plans for the future of the MINI production facility.
Most of the investment is destined for a new body shell production building and further modernisation of the paint shop to increase production flexibility at the plant.

It’s another MINI adventure
The second MINI2 Charity Ball will take place this year at the magnificent Shrigley Hall Hotel, Golf and Country Club based in the heart of the Cheshire countryside on Saturday 8th April 2006.
Last year’s inaugural event took place at the Moathouse Hotel in Northampton and saw 160 MINI2 revelers dancing, drinking and being merry whilst raising £5,721 for Woodlands School in Harrow, and Whizz Kidz. Woodlands is a school for children with severe learning disabilities and Whizzkids is MINI’s chosen charity - it offers mobility aids for disabled children.

Fourth double victory in a row from a large public vote: 106,000 readers of the specialized magazine “Auto, Motor und Sport” select MINI for the favourite of its class.
MINI has been voted the readers choice in the technical periodical “Auto, Motor und Sport”, and what’s more impressive, in 2004 the MINI, world-wide, has achieved a good dozen of class victories in competitions before public and jury or editorial votes.
The MINI gained 43.8% of the readers votes of “Auto, Motor und Sport” for best in class, which is more than twice as many as the runner up which attracted 21.3% of voters). The MINI also won the best small import vehicle class, with an impressive 63.3% of the votes.

January sales up 22.5 percent
The BMW Group (BMW and MINI brands combined) reported sales of 19,764 vehicles in January 2005, an increase of 22.5% percent over the January 2004 sales of 16,135.

Even the smallest miniature is a highly detailed, faithful conversion of the full size MINI, From the painted outside mirror to the two-colored Interior.
