MINI2 Members Raise £5,000 for Good Causes at the MINI2 Charity Ball 2005

First Ever MINI2 Charity Ball Proves Resounding Success

Following almost a year of hard work and planning by a small but incredibly devoted group of MINI2 members, the first ever MINI2 Charity Ball took place on Saturday 26th February at the Marriot Hotel, Northampton, England. Guests from around the UK, as well as various far flung corners of the globe, gathered at the hotel for a night of fun, food, and fundraising (and maybe the occasional alcoholic beverage).

The day began for many MINI2ers with a run organised by Bob “SoggyCornFlakes” Southgate, who took a group of eager MINI owners out into the countryside (and back in time!) for a spin in their MINIs before the evening’s main event began. The ball itself started as guests began to gather just after 7pm and for many carried on for as long as eleven hours or more! The socialising carried on well into the early hours, long after the dance floor was finally cleared at 2am!

As well as having a good time, and meeting as many new MINI2 members as possible, this event was all in aid of good causes, and generous party goers helped to raise over £5,000 for Whizz Kidz and Woodlands School. As the event was such a success, the next MINI2 charity ball is already in it’s planning stages, with a date around May 2006 penciled in for the next “big event”. Watch MINI2 for more details!

Special thanks has to go to all involved in organising the event, as well as the sponsors, corporate and individual, who gave so generously to help the MINI2 Charity Ball go with a bang. Thank you also to everyone who attended, we hope to see you all, and more new faces, next year!
