MINI Concept steals the show at Frankfurt

MINI’s 1st concept car since its 2001 launch proved a big hit for the world’s press at its Frankfurt Motor Show unveiling this week.

The cunningly-named MINI Concept Frankfurt provided early hints towards a potential future derivative for the much-loved Oxford-built car. A longer wheel base, added practical storage and access solutions plus bespoke interiors and exterior styling cues ensured that the concept MINI made the headlines and “stunned crowds”, according to The Sun.

Official: MINI & Bertone “In Talks” Over Light Weight Cooper S

Could the Cat Almost be Out of the Bag?

MINI2 has been reporting for some time on the future release of a special, limited edition, light weight Cooper S. Now, MINI2 has officially been given the strongest indication yet that this car will be produced.

Behind the dramatic unveiling of the Frankfurt Concept car, MINI have officially told MINI2 that they are indeed in talks with Bertone in Italy about producing just such a vehicle. The project, if it should happen, will be limited in numbers, but is expected to be available to major global MINI markets.

Frankfurt 2005 Concept MINI - Part II

Travelling in Style.

Exactly 45 years after the launch of the Mini Traveller in September 1960,
MINI is presenting the MINI Concept Frankfurt at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show – a design study re-interpreting the philosophy of the little Traveller
from Great Britain through a new concept of “Travelling in Style” befitting the beginning of the 21 st century.

In its overall look and appearance, this concept car with numerous design features in the meantime acknowledged as genuine icons is typical of MINI all the way. And numerous innovations both inside and outside are equally typical of the brand: Wide-opening doors with parallelogram kinematics characterise this very special car in the same way as its coupé-like look without a B-pillar, the new silver metallic paintwork and exquisite materials within the interior.
The MINI Concept Frankfurt also quotes the classic Mini Traveller also through its elegant Estate design boasting a symmetrically split double door at the back as well as split rear side windows.

BIG news on not so Mini MINI Concept

45 years after the premier of the Mini Traveller (maybe the original “Mini MPV?!) in September 1960, MINI Presented to the IAA 2005 in Frankfurtm this striking MINI Concept Design Study.
