It’s been a pretty solid rumour for a while, now BMW are starting to talk…

Tucked away in the last paragraph of a press release about the forthcoming MINI United event from BMW in Munich, is official confirmation that a ltd. edition MINI will be unveiled at the event.

Of course, MINI2 will be there to see it and will report back in close detail everything we see, which will be a nice conclusion to the much maligned “rumours” MINI2 started almost a year ago about a ltd. edition Light Weight Cooper S.

Here’s the text from the official MINI Press document:

“Handing over of the 700,000th MINI and presentation of a sporty special edition.

The MINI United event will also include the handing over of the 700,000th MINI to its buyer. Participants will be treated to the world premiere of a MINI special edition designed with the particularly sports-orientated MINI driver in mind.”
