This is what I had to as my focal's needed bringing 'out' towards the door card quite a bit. I also painted my MDF mounts black... you can't see them, but it helps make it a more moisture resiliant, and I just wanted to play with the spray paint

Don't forget, the more sealed the door is, the better the bass will be.
