Need some help once again to determine if temp gauge is faulty or needs to be replaced. Engine seems fine and I don’ t think engine is over heating. Fan works fine. However, my needle is now half way between the center line and the 3/4 line when warmed up and viewed straight on. The manual calls for it to be at the centerline. I know if I call the MINI Help line they will tell me to take it to the dealer. If not really overheating they will not be able to give me any help unless I can be specific. Only my fellow
MCS drivers can help right now. I would like to know where your temp needle rests when key is off? Unlike my fuel gauge which totally returns to the bottom of the cowl (almost disappears) and appears to rest on the edge my temp gauge needle seems to hang up at the bottom and never really returns to the cowl edge as the fuel gauge. What I really need is to have some of my fellow drivers compare their fuel gauge and their temp. gauge needle at rest when key is off. Are they both the same or does the temp needle appear to hang up above the cowl??
My dash (10 hr.labor) has already been removed along with the anti-freeze and A/C gas to install a burn out A/C-heater blower motor. Do any of you know if the entire dash has to come out to replace the temp. gauge if necessary??
