We saw a combination arial/ground display that was damn near deadly in its spectacularity. It was dark so I could not tell who was the pyrotechnician but whoever it was, was a genius (or madman). There were shells shooting high into the sky and suddenly they were shooting horizontally. I would have guessed this was random but the fact that no one was killed indicates the display was carefully orchestrated and controlled. By the time it was over, the sounds of party guests shouting hopefully for their loved ones in the heavy smoke all around the pond signalled the end of a memorable display. And Max, get this, we didn't lose a single duck! There was this one guy who was limping a little but hey, that is a small price to pay for such grandeur. |
