I've just written this post in word to open up a new thread, went to copy it accross and what do i find someone with the same problem. i'll add mine as well and hopfully get some more feed-back. thanks

Got a little problem and I need a little bit of help,
Nothing major (I hope) it’s a visual thing.
To the problem. My temp gauge has started to read a bit higher than normal. Normal been dead on half when fully warmed up.
The Gauge now reads between the half mark and the three quarter mark, two-thirds gauge. I’m pretty certain the cars not overheating and it’s a gauge or sender problem.
What I want to know from someone out there is, when you have the ignition switched off, where is the needle on your temp gauge. On mine with the ignition switched off the temp gauge needle is sitting on the first little light block at the bottom of the gauge. For a comparison the fuel gauge needle is right down, nearly below the bottom rim of the clock, I think the temp gauge should be the same but can’t remember. Could some please have a look and let me know, I’d really appreciate it.
I’m not going to get a look at another MINI to compare it till the weekend, and the problem is starting to bug me. As I said I’m certain the car is not overheating so there’s no panic, I just want my mind putting at ease till I can get the car booked in to be looked at.

p.s any info on this block thing for the last post ????
were do i look for it under the bonnet ???

Thanks
