Well, I've had a change of heart regarding car shampoo.

My first instinct was to find the cheapest stuff that would do the job effectively. Now I'm convinced that the cheapest generic dishwashing liquid will work as well as the most expensive stuff you can buy. Sorry Wul, I can't accept your chemistristic explanation: Whatever salt there might be in the cleanser gets rinsed off; and it's not melting wax at issue, it's dissolving.

BUT -- Having a MINI is not only about getting the job done, it's about enjoying the ride! The esthetics of the experience is as important as ending up with a clean car. (I am a guy who spent $650 on custom poker chips. Not to improve my winnings but to make the game more enjoyable) After my cheapo stuff gets used up (well, I'm not abandoning practicality altogether!) I'll probably switch to Sonax or NXT, based on the gushing, sensuous reviews I've read on here.
