| I have had this - more often than not it's when there isn't very much water on the windscreen. I suppose the heavier the rain, the less friction there is so the less likely they are to squeak.
My wipers have more of a thump when they are at the top of the window and turning round to head back down...
If the squeaking perseveres I would try a new set of wipers - how many miles have you done with them?
