I have pricing information from Towson MINI for comparison. It looks like they want $230 for a pulley plus 3 hours labor, so their labor rates are about the same as you are seeing. The nice thing about going with the dealer, imho, is that they won't give you a hard time if there are other warranty issues because they did the work. I was pleasantly suprised to hear the Towson service rep state that an after-market mod would not affect warranty repairs unless it was clearly the reason for a problem.

I'm looking forward to people's replies as well. Right now I'm debating between the pulley or the JCW CAI as my first performance mod. The CAI is $400 from Sterling via Roadfly and looks like something I can install myself so it will be a bit cheaper.

(And honest, I'm not trying to copy you . Let's see first there were the Toyo Proxes, then I got the parcel shelf (that was because I saw yours), and now a pulley. )
