I've searched the CVT forum quite a bit for an answer to a query i have but cant find anything ......
I use SD to have quick pull off at traffic lights etc etc but since fitting my 17'' S Spoke wheels ive noticed that even in SD the car doesnt pull off as quick. Ive noticed that if i leave it in 'D' at traffic lights i usually have a quicker pull off and a bigger response from the car when put into SD mode after pulling away. What i do now is, leave it in D to start off and as soon as i get the big surge of power coming through i put it into SD and it zooms straight away and it becomes more responsive than pulling away in SD and leaving it in SD until ive reached the speed i wanted. (sorry if this makes no sense, its difficult to explain)
Has anyone else found their CVT MINI is more responsive to the SD when left in D at traffic lights then put into SD after pulling away?
Are the wheels affecting it at all?
I heard that my wheels may be putting extra strain and pressure onto my gearbox which could lead to it being replaced sooner than normal- is that rite? is that due to the extra weight of the wheels?
