but I am very concerned about the only the first 10 to get their film in will be entered thing... I fear this is an invitation for disaster with folks perhaps pushing safety to be one of the first 10 back why not allow digital camera entries with the photos downloaded when folks get in? almost everyone has them by now and you could even have a few loaners provided by those of us with extras they do not have to be good ones in fact 640x480 POS types can be had for less than the cost of a disposable and its developing on eBay these days... USB 8 in one card readers that will read every known card format are also cheap And if you want to do it this way I would be glad to help with the downloading into laptops and judging please give this some thought as I have a very bad feeling about this first 10 rule...
Hi Randolph,
We spent long hours debating this very point, before deciding on the format.
There simply isn't enough time between the end of the event, and the festivities at the Mountain to download and sift through everyone's pictures. We cannot go through hundreds of pictures in people's cameras and get into debates which snapshot is part of the contest and which isn't. We simply don't have the time, or the manpower or any of the hardware to do that in time.
As for safety: The clues will be in a random order; the teams will not race together to their destinations. Instead, they'll scatter and spend time uncovering the clues independently, before they turn them in for judging. None of the clues will require the participants to drive and take pictures at the same time. In fact, for most clues the MINI will have to be included in the picture. And finally, as the registration form states, participants will be required so sign a pledge to obey traffic rules and to respect private property and the rights of the others.
You can always participate at your own pace for the drive through the countryside and the mental challenge some of the clues will provide.
