Does Sport mode enhance acceleration?

At the moment I'm doing the same as you, Sejanus. Sport mode is handy for quick takeoff at lights, and for overtaking. I keep meaning to try the manual mode, but it seems not necessary.

I've just finished the 1200 mile period, so perhaps I'll start to experiment more…

Has anyone compared 0 to 60 times in Sport mode vs. in Drive mode vs. in manual mode? I have a suspicion that the Sport mode won't make much difference--if you floor the accelerator/gas pedal then it'll go to high revs either way. I am guessing (but don't know) that the Sport mode is more useful for quick passing/overtaking with less of the infamous CVT "hesitation" as it'll already be at a healthy rpm.
