Let me guess, you can coast in gear on a totally flat lane (no incline or crown), take your hands off the steering wheel and it slowly moves to the right. Under acceleration, the car pulls to the right and in a couple of seconds you are in the right lane. When shifting, you always have to correct the car by slightly turning left.
Had the very same problem on my Chili Cooper. Dealer checked the alignment and everything was up to spec. They rotated the tires and it helped a little. Next move was to change the struts, no difference. That and the engine stumble w/ AC on is why I no longer have the car and picked up a new S today! Cooper S, Dark Silver on Dark Silver
