I put black neoprene rubber sheets cut to size between the areas where the hood touches as the wear marks are still there but at normal level now. I have looked at many other convertibles with canvas roofs and you cannot stop the wear marks especially where they touch when folded or are stretched over the frame. As long as the wear is not severe after hood replacement and they carry out the adjustments detailed in my other treads the only choices are:
1. Put up with it
2. Get a hard top Mini
3. Get a coupe/cabriolet from another car maker, but these have been dogged by reliability problems and most eg Mercedes, Peugeot and Vauxhall are all made by the same French company.
I will be happier though when/if they ever fix the very annoying window clicking and the numerous dash rattles, but these are only a problem when roof is up. Just hope we have a good summer! Yeah right!
