Yes, if it's new it is good value - where from? And what options have you got on that? How many miles per year? Normally leasing comes with servicing/maintenance so why are you getting the TLC pack?

Also, any reasons why you're only going for 12 months? By extending the term you'll get a much better rate.

However, I'd really suggest that leasing is not as good value as a good PCP scheme. Have you considered Sainsbury's Drive ? (Note that to find the Cooper Convertible you have to select Hatchback from the drop down list)

I'm earning around £2,000 a month, and I think this is enough to cover my costs, but I need to know about fuel consumption. I'm still leaving at home, so no rent, and no mortgage, and insurance is bringing me to around £90 per month.

If you want my advice, get a £2,000 reliable used car and save your money for a deposit for a house and stop sponging off your parents - that's your inheritance you're wasting!

Think this is a good idea, I need a vehicle to work, and I've consider the 05 Golf GT TDi, but I really dont know which vehicle to purchase, trying to weigh up the pros and cons of both!

I was going through a similar conundrum not so long ago. I test drove the Golf, and although it's got some pull it is B O R I N G as anything. The Mini has oodles more character, is more zippy, turns more heads, says more about yourself and has better resale value than any Golf. Every man and his dog has a Golf!

Go for the MINI!!!
