Getting the original quote was very painful as the insurers kept having to go to the underwriters, who inevitably said no to the modifications. Also I found it impossible to get quotes including the mods on line.

I called Greenlight, as a few Mini2er's have said good things about them, but they require me to fit a tracking devise, which adds another £449 + £120 monitoring cost.

I know people will refer me to Adrian Flux, but last time they quoted me £1500. I have full no claims, 35 years old, and the car is kept in secure parking.

Please can anyone suggest a mod friendly insurer as my car is currently not covered.

www.quinn-direct.co.uk seemed quite happy about me having modded my car.

I have a Cooper, in a Liverpool Postcode. I'm 29 with full no claims.

Modifications include Pipercross Viper induction and PlayMINI Catback exhaust.

They quoted me £560 fully comp (as opposed Adrian Flux who wanted £1200 - they're a bleedin joke)
