Finally have a chance to post my pics from Monday. I really liked the idea of floating some ducks as a tribute to Ed on his birthday, but there was only one snag; I couldn't go to a river/lake/ocean or any other body of water on Monday evening because I has to be out on the ice, Monday nights are one of my hockey nights. But then I started thinking about it... Hey, isn't ice just frozen water? So while an ice rink might not be the typical place to take a rubber duck, it was the best body of water that I had available to me...
This is the Devilduck. Not just your average duck....
Into the bag he goes, no doubt thankful he has no sense of smell.
Out on the ice with duck. Actually, this rink has been having some issues with the heat lately, so the east end of the rink is a puddle for the first half of games. Closer to a real "body of water" than it should be...
Yes, it's me.
And there's the duck. I had to be careful, a couple players wanted to slap-shot him across the rink.
Back in the locker room after the game, with Devilduck intact.
And finally at the bar afterwards, Devilduck enjoys a Snapple pink lemonade and some curly fries...
Happy birthday, Ed.
