Well almost hands free.... but is it supposed to?

Closing the roof using the key in the lock - where you hold the key in the locked position and the roof goes up, windows close etc. So I was doing this and inadvertedly let go of the key after the roof started to rise... and it carried on. Quite cool I thought. But do they all do this or perhaps my lock is sticky and the key just happened to be held in place?
