This Whalen for my 2006 MCC has an overall bead-blasted finish, with a brushed ring portion for highlight. Bead-blasted finish is ideal for those of us who don't want a shiny knob, and brushing adds an understated accent. I debated between brushing the shift pattern circle area vs a brushed surrounding ring. I went with the ring, but a brushed circle should also look great. Thanks Doug for your fine work!

I painted the shift pattern using the technique suggested by jimz68 at NAM (thanks Jim): paint the shift pattern with an automotive touchup pen, then lightly wipe with acetone.
