He is in the USA and over here in north america we don't get a "one"

My Cooper is averging 32mpg (US gallons), I do drive it had, but with the traffic around here its hard to floor it very often.

What kind of driving are you doing? Do you have a manual transmission?

I suggest you check the tire pressure, car alignment, and perhaps oilchange, ECU reset, new sparkplug... it really depends on your car's mileage and the type of driving you do.
