Annette, sorry to hear you're caught in the promotions trap. They make you prove you're worthy by doing the job before they'll think about promoting you and then once you're doing it, why should they bother to promote you since you're doing the work anyway... Sucks that the only reliable way to get a promotion is to change company - how short sighted is that..?
