While it wont get me a perfect center position (which should only really matter for lateral g's), I've found the best place in the MINI to mount the G-tech is on the dash--just to the lower left of the speedometer. I found that when up on the windshied, the cord stretches too much and it never stays up. I'm really dissappointed to hear that the gen. 2 G-Tech isn't any better. I was hopeful after reading the new info.
