I have a cooper and depending on how the bank is i swap between Esso's Premium 95 Ron and Optimax, I can tell slight differences, but you realy do have to think about it if you now what I mean. 5th Gear only showed you the power output level's, they missed the how clean it comes out at the back, nor did they do any test's on weather it definatly cleans your engine. I buy Optimax maybe 2 times a month and anything over i fill up with Esso, reason for buying Optimax is to make sure I am using the best (Available) petrol to help maintain (Keep Clean, running properley) of my Mini. From what I have read and hopefully understand to be right, is that unleaded either has no or very little cleaning agents, compared to your more expensive fuels like Optimax, Ultimate. As for Tesco's 99 ron fuel's I dont now if they contain these cleaning agents or not.

If Tesco's fuel doesn't have the same or better cleaning agents it maybe that I fill up with tesco's fuels more often, and use Optimax less maybe once a month.
