Well, I got in ok and dodged the massive queues for the none MINI owners, plus got a prime spot for the show dead in the middle (at the side, not right in the middle, obviously)! I just had to show them my keys and tell them my name and registration.
Only problem was, the MINI shop wouldn't let me have the (10% I think) discount for MINI owners because I didn't have the special voucher which I should also have got with the backstage pass and invitation. I bought one of those cool official radio control Coopers, so the 10% would have come in pretty handy! Anyone got any ideas who I should contact at MINI UK to try and get them to give me a refund of that 10% ? Gotta be worth a try at least, right? PM me with any suggestions please!
The Motor Show was pretty good, by the way. A lot more new cars there than last time I went to one. Plus the MINI Live stunt show was amazing and well worth the trip (even if the M6 was so packed that it took me 4 hours to get home afterwards!

). Russ Swift was (and is!) brilliant.
