No offence, but if someone's going to be warming my knob for me I would at least like to know their real name. So until then I'll have a cold knob...or rather I won't because my MINI still hasn't arrived. My current non-MINI knob is leather, and after 3 years of hard use (78,000 miles on an R-plate is hard use), my knob is looking somewhat worn - the, errrrrr, bulbous end to my knob is almost down to the steel shaft beneath, but it still works like a dream, even if it doesn't look as attractive as it once did - repeated testing with numerous 'helpers' has proven that my knob still feels as good in the hand as it did when it was a 'virgin' knob, having never been slotted into anything previously....and it's all nice and warm feeling, even on a cold morning.
