| There should be no issues if you are tapping from under the steering wheel. Perhaps you do have a bad SWI-X?
As for the stereo not accepting it, I would think it wouldn't allow the right button to go out if it didn't work. The left button is for the steering wheel button programing, the right for the stereo function. Hmmmm....
