i have to agree with MINImeat, WD40 works like magic on sticky residue. I use it all of the time on residue left by stickers. it worked well on the dash and didn't harm the finish. just spray some on a paper towel and gently wipe the sticky area. let it sit for a couple of min. then wipe it up. the WD40 softens the adhesive so it comes right off.
