Service Interval/Oil Service

I recently changed the oil in my 2005 Mini Cooper Convertible at 5,000 miles. Having a BMP Code-Plus reset-scan tool handy, I decided to reset the oil service indicator--without reading the manual for the reset-scan tool---thinking that logically I'd be able to increment the indicated mileage to suit myself. I should've read the manual! It says NOT to reset the oil service unless the light is on. At any rate, after my ill conceived reset, the Mini Odometer display shows "miles inspect" instead of "oil service" and the mileage incremented up 10,000 miles. It is counting down like it did before, but I'd like to get the "oil service" display back instead of seeing "miles inspect"
Any suggestions will be appreciated!
