The wing on an Exige actually produces up to 100 pounds of downforce vice none of the Elise allowing it to corner "faster".

The "spoiler" on Porsches that pop up at 75 MPH are true spoilers, meant to break up the air pattern so the rear end doesn't get light ... I do not believe they create any downforce.

Generally speaking a spoiler is a body panel of whatever shape is determined to create the needed effect.
A wing is just that, and airfoil attached to the body through some means.

I'd like to have $5 for every "wing" I've seen that is obviously set up incorrectly.
