I think the filler neck runs down the fender into a bag. While I've never had a problem with my MINI's bag, I've had some leaks in other cars--the bags are pretty delicate. It would have to be a pretty severe leak to break the washers, though. A couple of things to consider--just because you hear the pump doesn't mean it's not broken. It does mean that all the electrics are probably ok. Also, make sure the jets aren't somehow clogged.
None of this info really comes from specific experience with MINI's. I might be completely wrong about this bag business. |
