I've angled my induction kit towards the pipe so I think it gets cold air.

When I had a green induction kit for a saxo vts on there, it was in a different place slightly, and could get hot to the touch

I still put out 116.5 bhp with it though.

Since I've put on an induction kit designed for the mini, it never gets hot.
