I've been working since age 16 and have enough buying power to finance a £30k car quite easily.... what i dont have is £6k to spunk up the wall in insurance every year.

Why cant insurers take my named-driver experiance as no claims bonus? I havent claimed....clearly i should get a discount!

some people on here with MCS with quotes of £350/year? What the hell? Its like us young drivers are subsiding their motoring!!!

Dont`t take this the wrong way but possibly reported facts as listed may have something to do with it.
By the way I am 58 drive a Works S FULL no claims and pay £ 650 /yr I would love to pay 350 but possibly I am paying more because of the younger generation??

An eighteen year old is three times as likely as his/her parents to have an accident whilst driving.Male drivers under 25 cause the most serious and fatal accidents of any age group.Young drivers often, fatally, ignore signs or symptoms of tiredness, resulting in serious motorway accidents. Research recently carried out by the RAC Foundation and Max Power magazine showed that one in four young drivers questioned had driven after being awake for more than 24 hours - which is very unsafe. Be safe...
Visit the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents to find out more.
17-25 year olds hold just 10% of all driving licenses but cause more than 20% of car accidents.Young drivers are lax about drink driving: a scary 48% of young drivers said that they thought they would drive better after a few pints (Max Power survey).Inexperienced drivers are slower to recognise dangers and are also slower at driving manoeuvres. This makes them less likely to be able to dodge threats posed by other dangerous drivers, and so more likely to get into accidents.
