Am actually back in Bangkok with my MCS again! Can't seem to get enough of the roads to here! Took in Cameron Highlands en route (stopover one night) and the fabulous and adjoining Guar Musang road. Then proceeded to Had Jai again, staying overnight before going on to Bangkok in about 10 hours or so (inclusive of fuel and meal breaks). Total distance to Bangkok was under 2000 kilometres including the diversion to Cameron Highlands, this time travelling via Songhla and Surat Thani up the Thai main arterial highway (Highway 41 and then 4 from Chumphon).
As regards the high mileage, I couldn't bear to part with my MCS and given I have a new job here, decided that I would bring it up with me! I also don't envisage parting with my car anytime soon, and am actually contemplating taking good car of my car and driving until the COE expires at least, so heck the mileage!

In fact, the Thai Mini Club (New Mini Society) are actually thinking of driving down to Singapore shortly, so if the timing works out, you might want to plan your trip up in convoy with them on their return leg. PM me if you want further details.
