Many thanks to Shamster for sharing the MINI MK Traveller and roadster pics!!!
Me likely the 5 door wagon pictured a lot. I was wondering how the designers could work around the problem of adding 2 rear doors without messing up the overall design and clean looks of the car. They did a masterful job in that interpretation IMO.
I love the rear "dead" opening doors (Open the opposite way) and the rear double "dutch" doors used in the boot instead of the current single piece hatchback door.
Too bad, MINI will not release it until late 2006 but I am seriously looking forward to it and hope that MINI realizes that there is a market of young families with children that would love to have all the current attributes found in the current MINI, in a more practical, family oriented package.
The article says the MINI "Traveller" wagon (Codenamed MK2) will be a bit wider and taller than the current car, but much of the current styling will be retained (Thanks!). It is also likely that the Wagon will offer the first BMW-Peugeot PSA joint venture engines as well.
The Traveller duals as a 5 door hatch back or a wagon, really nice concept. I wish MINI had put priority to this variant instead of the rather silly Convertible/Roadster models that will be coming up real soon, but I guess they do envision a good market opportunity there.
MINI, C'mmon let's make the traveller a reality way before 2006....I want one NOW!
