Hi,
If you want a temporary protective coating for your car for its first journey, you could try using a protective gell, such as Vasaline, applied liberally over the front of the car (six or seven tubs of the stuff). This is an oil based protective gell used on the skin, so shouldnt harm the car. It is the solution to the problem recommended by a UK car protection company for new cars that are going to be protected by their film, but have to be driven to the film installer. it stops most chipping problems with the paint apparantly, but obviously wont stop the largest roacks from doing damage.

I would also suggest keeping your speed real low until you get it protected.
