Cool Say Hello to my little friend

Well what can I say.......first off.........WOW........it looks awesome. I cannot stress enough that pictures do not do this car justice. It has so much road presence, it is like my Works on steroids.

Next came the moment to take it for it's first spin. Dinks happened to be there so I took him for a 'little' spin, sorry I held back a bit, but it was the first few miles. It took a while for me to get used to it, as it has been so long since I'd been in a Mini. It was raining at the time and I sat there for a few seconds trying to figure out how to work the rear wiper, it took a few moments for the penny to drop. I have to say, I was impressed that the rear window didn't get misted up, I didn't have any problems seeing out the back. The change in the aero dynamics do seem to have made a difference.

Now that I have a few more miles under my belt I can start to notice the difference from a Works. It is definitely louder but not overly loud at all. You can hear the gases rushing out of the exhaust and there are so many bangs when you lift off. It is also bloody quick. I kept it under 4,500rpm but even at those revs you can make fairly rapid progress. The seats are superb, the Recaro's are such an improvement over the standard sports seats. Finally I just want to mention the build quality, in a word, excellent. This car is as close to a hand built Mini are your going to get and it just feels so solid. Not a peep from the dashboard which I am happy to say. Getting one of the last of this model definitely has its pluses in that department.
