The temp underbonnet varies around the engine bay and if the car is stationary ,one of the hottest areas is over the exhaust manifold by the water tank which can get to well over 100 degrees c ,despite the heatshields,I have some engine bay temps somewhere I shall have a look for you . that is why we wrap the manifold which reduces the temp above it and sends more heat down the pipes ,and put extra temp blanket on the heatshields |
