The diesel should have cheaper insurance, and the engine should be more reliable. I also do just over 600 miles on a full tank. The downside is you need to work with the gears a bit more, diesel is slightly more expensive than petrol and the 1D costs more to buy than a One. Also we are a bit more unique. You'd probably have to buy second hand as they don't make new ones at the moment. I think the new diesel is going to be around next January. If you are stuck in traffic it doesn't matter what car you have. If you have lots of country roads you might prefer petrol but I'm quite happy. |
