That is correct (although my MINI key is on it's own on my keyring so not an issue).

As far as I am aware there will be an "easy access" option, the same as BMW 1 Series (I believe) where you can keep the key in your bag/pocket. Touch the door handle to unlock and enter, and no need to insert the key to start the engine. Then touch the handle again to lock it on your way out.
