Wow Casey, that was a long time between posts on this topic!
Yeah, I've had the bar in since the beginning of May. Fortunately I haven't had any opportunity to see if it works. I did about 10 events last year and had no problems with it.
The install was complicated by the fact that I have a sunroof, and at the time they didn't make a bar to fit a sunroof car. However, my tuner's shop does fabrication work, so they modified the bar to fit my car, and sold their blueprint for it to Autopower (the company that makes the bar), so everybody got something out of the deal.
Apparently they also make pieces to turn it into a full cage if you decide to get real serious and do some wheel-to-wheel racing in the future. I'm just doing hillclimbs, time trials, driver's schools and the occasional autocross, and the bar's been just fine. |
