car transport

I'll have same problem when my car arrives in Pittsburgh. Check web and your dealer for recommendations. An important matter is how the car is tied down. Ideally they use "wheel bonnets" or tie wheels down. You don't want them to chain suspension parts to the trailer. Enclosed transport is substantially more. I haven't decided who to use. Checking on the web leads me to believe there are a lot of transporters. I got prices from 800 to 1600 and have not decided yet.

Breakin is supposed to be at constantly varying speeds, so 2000 miles at steady speed would not seem like best breakin procedure. However, MINI refuses to supply rationale for their breakin recommendations.
