Strangle whistling noise after fitting JCW Intake

A short while back, I had my dealer fit the JCW Air Intake and JCW exhaust. When I got the car back, I immediately noticed that there was an odd, irregular high pitched whistling type noise emanating from the engine compartment when I have the throttle partially depressed at around 2K-3.5K RPM. To my untrained ear, it sounds like a vacuum leak type of sound.

The service dept had a look at it, and is telling me that this noise is "normal for the JCW airbox". I know at least one full JCW that does not make this annoying noise. On top of that, I think it is getting worse. My MCS has the steptronic transmission, and he has about 11K kms on him.

Has anyone else run into this, or have any useful insights?
